Of course you can. Flexibility and prior experience with yoga are not requirements.
Wear athletic clothes – basically anything you don’t mind sweating in is fine! Remember it gets H-O-T!
We do not recommend practicing on a full stomach. You can eat something light 30 minutes before class if you’d like. But most of our classes are heated, and we will be flowing, breathing, and sweating A LOT. Hydration is imperative, so bring a water bottle to class.
If you’re pregnant, please consult your doctor before starting or continuing to practice hot yoga.
Talk to your doctor first. Always tell your teacher if you have an injury, even if you think it’s small. We do occasionally give hands-on assists in this practice, and we would never want to put your body in jeopardy!
It is common in Baptiste Yoga to use hands on, alignment based assists to support you in your practice.
We know and honor that you might not want to be touched! No biggie at all. If you do not wish to receive any hands on assists from the teacher please just take a chip at the front desk and leave it with the “No thanks” side facing up on your mat!

If you’ve never done yoga before or have only taken a few classes, our PYBasics Class is a great place to start, however, If the Basics Class times don’t fit your schedule, feel free to attend any other class, and simply let the teacher know before starting that it’s your first time! We love new friends so don’t be scared to tell us you’re new!
Please bring your own mat, water, and a towel. We recommend a full-length towel, just in case. Beach, bath, or yoga mat towels all work!
Get whatever you are comfortable with to start. When you decide that you’re ready to invest in your practice, we suggest a sticky mat. We love BMat Yoga Mats, and sell them at each studio.
We HIGHLY recommend bringing your own mat to class. If you need to rent a mat from us it is $5. If you need to rent, please bring your own towel.
Pretty much! Every class on our schedule is heated to 90 degrees but you can definitely count on little to no sweat in classes like Yin Yoga or Restorative Yoga. We do still keep the studio WARM for those classes in order to keep your muscles and joints malleable.
Though we accept most insurance benefits cards, there are some plans that won’t cover Yoga, so it is best to call your provider beforehand.
